Challenge Success Fall Conference

I was honored this past weekend to be a presenter at Challenge Success' annual Fall Conference. Held at Stanford University, over forty schools from across the country were represented by teams of teachers, administrators, parents, and students.  In a jam-packed morning of fast roundtables, I had several great discussions with attendees about how to keep kids' sports healthy, fun, and educational.  The energy was great across the conference and it was well-run and coordinated.

If you're unfamiliar with the work of Challenge Success, I urge you to check it out.  www.challengesuccess.org.

Crystal Springs Uplands School

I had another great trip to Crystal Springs Uplands School yesterday.  We had a really engaged audience with a lot of passion, insight, and interest.  Clearly, this is a school that is working hard to embody a culture of lifelong health, values-driven sports and coaching, and the education of "horizontal kids."

Crystal Springs Uplands School Presentation

I'm headed up to Hillsborough on Tuesday to present to the parent group at Crystal Springs Uplands School.  Healthy youth sport participation is important and I'm pleased that more and more schools are getting involved.

If you have a parent group that could use a presentation, please contact me for details.

Challenge Success Donation

As of September 1, I will contribute 5% of my net practice income to Challenge Success (challengesuccess.org).  I'm proud to be a Board member of Challenge Success and I'm pleased to help support the mission to help schools, parents, and kids redefine what it means to be successful.

"At Challenge Success, we believe that our society has become too focused on grades, test scores, and performance, leaving little time for kids to develop the necessary skills to become resilient, ethical, and motivated learners. We provide families and schools with the practical, research-based tools they need to create a more balanced and academically fulfilling life for kids. After all, success is measured over the course of a lifetime, not at the end of a semester."
